I am so very sorry for your loss (hugs)
It really is a personal choice. For me I need that warmth of a furball or it feels like something is missing. Maybe foster a dog for now. You lost a life n you'd be helping save one. Then give it some time. When the time is right the perfect dog will fall into your lap, weather it be in a week, a few months or a year.
