Default Aren't people special?
I just have to vent about the experience I had yesterday... So I'm walking both dogs on a nice long walk on the deserted greenbelt. All nicely tethered with the splitter and long line hooked to their sturdy collars.

When we're on the island in the middle of the rotary pond I see this family (parents and 3-4 pretty little kids) on the other side of the lake and start looking closely to make sure they don't have a dog just because I try to be vigilant about these things. Sure enough they have this huge off leash yellow thing. I was holding the long line so my dogs are right next to me and fully under control (like 3ft of lead). They didn't even care there was a dog across the way and were being very good. The yellow dog of course has no recall or even a freaking collar of any sort and starts across the ice for us. And the adults don't even do anything!! Its the freaking tiny kids screaming at the dog to come back!! Wtf!?! How can people be so freaking stupid to not even have a collar on their damn dog?!?

It was a pretty young dog (freaking huge though... a lot bigger than Lynley and he's 110lbs) and unfortunately it had the look of the kind of mongoloid mix that people like to call a "pit bull". Luckily it was skittish enough to back off when I yelled at it. The thing that torqued me off the most was that these dumb shit people are a liability being so freaking irresponsible.

On the lighter side I'm very proud of my roommates dog (that Lynley, he's a Lab/Ridgeback/??? mix). He's selectively DA, mostly toward small dogs and male dogs he doesn't know. He was very calm the whole time and let me handle the situation, only giving his big boy bark at that stupid dog once like he was saying, "Hey dumbass, listen to the mom lady and go away!"
