If I was going to be a breeder...

If you were an APBT breeder, what would you breed for?
The overall dog. I want a dog that is mentally and physically sound, capable of ANY task set to it, including being an awesome family dog.

What would you change in the breed?
I don't think there is much that needs to be changed.. this isn't a breed known for health/temperament problems.

Would you want to be highly publicized or fairly private?
In the middle. I would want people to recognize my dogs, but not be clamoring over each other trying to get a puppy.

Who would you sell your puppies to - anybody or only people you know well?
People who proved that they were dedicated. People who came to competitions and got to know me and my dogs, and spent time with me and the dogs. I would want my puppies to go to people who would have the same goals in mind for the breed and would work with me and other breeders to preserve the breed.

How often and what would you compete in?
I would compete as often as possible, without overworking the dogs, in everything... agility, weightpull, flyball, Schutzhund, conformation, dock diving, and probably more that I just can't think of right now.

Where would you keep your dogs and how often would you exercise them?
This is where my dream kennel comes into play! It would be an extensive of my house, so that the indoors part of it would be heated/cooled. The outside parts of the runs would have their own springpoles and would be half gravel and half grass. Aside from competing, they would be exercised daily on treadmills and hand walks/games.

What would be your maximum number of dogs?
I would say 8-10. I am used to having that many, and it's a fun number of dogs to have.

What age would you sell the pups at?
Pups would leave me at 10 weeks.

What would be YOUR vision of a perfect breeder?
Someone who proves their dogs are the best of the best before breeding and who truly cares for and KNOWS about the breed

What would your yard and kennel be like if YOU were an APBT breeder?
It would be awesome LOL
