Thank you Hoyden!!! OUr daughter just turned 6 and she knows the same rules. She was around one fight and she very quickly ran upstairs to her room and shut the door and did not open it until I gave her the all clear.

So yes vaccinations, ect but remember this is SHELTER staff and volunteers.... NOT adopters that we will be talking to. In one 15 minute span when I was in the dog yard I saw THREE potentials for a dog fight, all involving Pit Bulls and one I actually had to step in and correct the volunteer who was allowing a child to walk a pit bull into a yard full of dogs.
I thought that I should just bring it up as I've run into many shelter volunteers who have no idea how to break up a fight safely, much less educate potential adopters on the matter.

The shelter staff are the ones most likely to be in contact with new adopters so if is important they they make adopters aware of that pit bulls can become DA at any time and encourage them to make a "drill plan" for lack of a better word, so they know what to do WHEN a fight breaks out.
