I'm planning to get an apbt puppy and I'm a bit paranoid about dog thieves. I have two medium sized mixed breed dogs that use the dog door to roam inside the house and in the fenced backyard. When I get the pit puppy I plan to crate it in the house when I'm not home.

Does this seem sufficient to prevent the puppy from being stolen? I'm curious how often dog thieves break into houses, or do they mainly just go after dogs that are tethered or kept in a fenced yard.
