Just like to update this and say thanks to the guys who took time to offer advice.

Shortly after posting this i decided to look over what i had achieved since playing golf and who had helped me and how. When I first started playing i had lessons with a pro named Simon he moulded my swing and helped me break 80 twice in the first 7 months of taking up the sport. I then though i knew it all and stopped the lessons and played ok for a few months and when things started going wrong they went wrong! So i went to have a couple of lessons Simon wasnt around he was on holiday so i had a lesson with another pro.

With in 5 minutes he had me hitting the ball further than i ever had and was feeling good again. Then i had a few months off for other reasons when i started playing again this year my swing was in tatters and i went back to the second pro and was expecting him to fix me quickly. The lessons left me feeling worse and like nothing was going to work. It was at this point i was looking at other drastic measures and at this time i posted this thread. A couple of days later i was up the range working on things when my original pro Simon stood watching me (with out me knowing) and said jesus whats happened to you! and he picked the moment as i was almost in tears ready to give up.

Well i have had a few lessons with Simon again and put my trust back in his hands and although im not 100% there yet still making a few mistakes my swing is in total transition and looking like a solid swing again. Since having lessons with Simon I have carded 3 rounds of 75,78,81 had my first 2 ever eagles and finally enjoying golf again. Sorry for being long winded but i have found it hard to participate on the forum or even talk golf whilst going through what for me was a torrid time but im on my way back and will be posting more again. Once again thanks for the help and kind words from the great THPers
