great idea on taking rest Rock...only thing i like to do the day before is maybe putt around for a half hour at most...lags and 10 footers just to get used to hearin the sound of the bottom of the cup. I have a suggestion for your chipping practice; find one club whether that's your 56*, your PW, 7i and then ONLY chip/pitch with that during your practice...give yourself some confidence in that one club for around the greens and your up/downs should work out better. I've always found that if i'm hitting multiple clubs on the pitch/chip area it leaves me without a 'I KNOW i can get up and down' feeling...confidence is everything and good luck my friend!

Thanks for the idea. Anywhere from 0-10 feet, I only chip with an 8 iron. Anything outside 10 feet is likely going to be the 56*. Certainly pitch shots 10 yards and out are the 56*. But it's those in between shots. I think you're right though, for those 10 feet to 10 yard shots, I should just bump the delofted 8 iron up there. The ground is rock hard. It may not look pretty, but with ground this hard, it should be pretty manageable.
