Could it be the "New (old) Putter Phenomenon"? Some people believe that you seem to putt much better with a new (or old; read: different) putter because you are focused on the putter and how it feels as opposed to overthinking your putting stroke. I know a few people that like to rotate putters because each time it gives them a different feel. Maybe if this one goes "cold" you could re-kindle the putting stroke by switching back? It's interesting, for sure!
