I think my handicap makes me look better than I am because I play 99% of my rounds at the same course and know where not to hit the ball and how to score my home course. I usually shoot in the 80's but when I play a course for the first time I end up in the 90's.

+1 to this. Never really knew how my handicap would "travel" until recently. I can break 80 at my home course, yet shooting mid 80's at an away course I would consider a success and my potential.
