Draw line on ball and aim it to where I want it to start off (in your case, 3-4 inches right of hole). Use alignment line on putter to line up to line on ball and just get it started down the line. I have really had good success with this method. I feel all sorts of lost trying to just visualize the putt without any true alignment.
