By no means do I consider myself a long hitter. I would say average...but I do have a brother in law who is about a 20 handicap and just this past year started playing more. Anyhow, he is only about 5'10", he doesn't seem to have an extremely fast swing speed, but he hits his 9-iron about 160. He definitely is not very accurate, but I have seen him hit plenty of nice straight shots too, and he hits his irons about 30 yards longer than me. It doesn't take a pro golfer to hit the ball long.
