The change to the moving ball rule is certainly good.

As for suggesting that oob should be played as lat hazard and only one stroke penalty is plain stupidity. Going oob should command a higher penalty.

Yes it would speed up play a litle, but only a very small percentage of slow play is caused by oob issues. The problem would arise on driver shots that your ball could go oob at 260yds and too far for you to be 100% certain where it crossed the line. Now, if when you get up there you can't find the ball you can not say for certain where it crossed the line so you then have no legal place to drop.

If however the powers that be wish to change it this way why not make it a two shot penalty and allow a drop.

Divots, as hard as ther are to play from sometimes, are part of golf and you should play the ball as is. Golf is a game that is played in natural suroundings and you should accept some bad luck as well. To my knowledge I have only had to play from 3 divots this yera and only 1 of those I to manufacture a shot from.

I am sure someone will soon say that all fairways must be billiard table smooth cuz they don't like uneven lies.

This game isn't meant to be easy. That is the attraction.
