Default 2nd Golf Lesson
Well, I had my second lesson yesterday. First one was about 10 days ago. Since my first lesson, I have found my driver swing thanks to using a strong/strong grip. My iron grip has also changed to a strong/neutral grip. So the new grips, along with his tips for staying on plain have shown drastic improvement in consistancy. (That, and I should own stock at Spring Hill's practice range as much as I spent on range cards getting this sorted out)
I warmed up with my 7i and consistantly put 80% of my shots within 15 yrds of one another. Then I warmed up my driver. David, my PGA Pro/Instructor, snuck up behind me and had been watching for a few minutes unknown to me. When I finally turned and saw him he was like " wow, looks like someone has been working at it quite a bit". And THAT was gradifying. He had me hit my driver more than anything just because he was amazed my grip didnt cause me to go left. If anything, it always goes straight or a fade. Distance was around 230-250 fairly consistantly. We also worked on long irons which tend to slice more times than not. Ended up being by down swing was too much out to in. I kept the right elbow in a little more and that solved that issue. So things are progressing nicely. I will have my next lesson in another 10-14 days so I'm sure something will come up that I need to work on. I am REALLY glad I decided to take these lessons. They have helped me tremendously with my swing plain and set-up.
Now if I can just break 90 in the next few months. Hmmmmmmm.
