Neither am I. But the argument that simply saying you want to do something is the same as having the will and morality to do it is dangerous.
He demonstrated that he had the "will and morality" to do it. He wanted to do it, and expressed such a desire even after being told that he could be a good Muslim if he didn't.

Suggesting that a 19 year old man doesn't know that killing people is wrong is silly...
