I guess the first question is that you play Pro V1s and ProV1xs normally. They are very different balls, so what do you get out of each one that you like and that will help narrow down your choices. from there, it would depend on swing speed and what you can compress to maximize distance without ballooning.
I've always found that while the ProV1x is a bit longer off the tee for me, it spins a bit more. So that being said i'll switch between the two depending on the course i'm playing and how i'm swinging. My driver SS is around 105-108mph.

For the ball, it would have to be legal and off the shelf, nothing special mail order.
