I once played with an older man who never even tried to hide that he put every ball into a good lie, or dropped a second ball to make putts, etc. When I talked to him after the round, asking how he scored and he said "I don't keep score, I either played good, or I didn't play good. Today, I didn't play good" and proceeded to say something along the lines of "I have played golf too long to care about any of that stuff. I just want to go out and have a good time. Why should I play from a crappy lie when I don't care what my score is? I just like being outside" I don't count what he did as cheating- and I hope I can have the same attitude when I am his age!
