I try to play down and dirty every time, but I'm not above encouraging a playing partner to take another shot after a poor drive or give up a gimme when they've been struggling.

I find this is the way to be when someone is struggling or just taking up the game.It makes a more enjoyable round for all. It's the guys that brag about shooting in the 80's when it more like the 100's that I find it somewhat comical and annoying.Hey but it's their game.
