The way I look at this question is "no" Duval should not be given up on. There are quite few others on tour who have not, and probably will not obtain the success Duval has had. Some of those weekly, pay check to pay check players could disappear and never be missed. Duval will always be one of the pleasant memories on the PGA tour.
