That's true, but his shots go a lot further so there are less of them.
My Men's Club plays a 5 man scramble as a new member mixer to start each season. We use a format that I've found to be unusual but a lot more equitable than some other scramble setups. The way we do it, you can use any player's drive on any hole, BUT.... The player whose drive is selected does not get to play the second shot. That brings a different strategy into the game... makes you think about who you want playing that second shot, and let's the weaker players feel that they are more a part of the team. Thinking that in Diane's case, the women will be playing from the forward tees, while her brother will be a bit farther back so the discrepancy in the tee shots may not always be all that great. That would make it an advantage to sometimes choose a shorter drive in order to have the longer hitter playing the second shot.

That's all irrelevant to Diane's question.... just came to mind while I was reading the thread...
