As someone who allegedly specialised in arab studies you should be aware that demonstrations in arab countries are almost always staged and very rarely spontaneous ( since most of the countries that we are talking about are police states who usually don´t allow ANY kind of demonstration)
And to "assume" something is not the same as presenting facts which you did not.

My job description has been in my public profile, since I joined the board. If you have a problem with it or question my integrity about it, tough shit.

Protest aren't always staged and they are allowed depending on who is doing it. If you aren't part of the group that's in control, you know not to stick your head out or you'll lose it along with your family.
