No, you don't. The vast majority of Muslims are not violent, nor potentially so. Angering the average Muslim by further marginalizing them will not serve US interests in the long term.

Non violent Muslims are unlikely to become terrorists just because they are closely checked at airports.
The priority should be to protect the safety if airline travellers. Avoiding annoying some people should not come first.
