True, for that amount of money, Beckham had better have an impact on the sport in America. He has the opportunity to go either way; he could prove a positive influence and could raise soccer (football) to a new level here in the States, or he could bask in his own fame/notoriety and be a huge tool, which could have quite the opposite effect. Let's hope he's sincere in his supposed desire to grow the sport, and that he makes friends with his teammates instead of making Galaxy a one-man show.
In any event, I hope the team's management finds a way to add some seats to Galaxy's Carson, CA stadium (Home Depot Center)... I think it holds like 25 or 27.000 people. That will be quite the step down from Bernabu.
