First of, my condolences to the family and her squad mates.

Denmark lost it's first female soldier in Afghanistan yesterday. I don't know why, but personally I seem to get more sad and loose some resolve, when you suddenly see a female name and image, rather than that of a male. Maybe it's a genetic thing, I don't know.

I worry that it might cause a high public approval of the war to fall, as we're simply not used to seeing female troops KIA. Of course, the reason we haven't seen it yet is sheer luck, as women in the Danish army can serve in any branch, no limits.

Anyways, rest in peace, soldier.
