Hmm, this is quite interesting. You would expect that any circus/exotic pets released during the 70's would have died out. This means that they're breeding, or cross breeding with different species of big cat - though this would be unlikely as most offspring would be infertile, but some might not be (pieced together from what I learnt - or rather didn't from University genetics).
