I, President smurf, have decided (after great investigation, of course) that all of the liberals on this board are terrorists who are plotting a 911 style attack, only with VW hippie vans instead of jets. Because of this, I have issued an order for the CIA to off the lot of you at their convenience. Have a good day.

Welcome to the party. This "government can use these over reaching powers in malicious ways against undeserving American citizens" thing has been a concern for quite awhile now.

Here's how it works: when a politician one likes does it, it's because they're doing it for the betterment of our country and our country's security. When a politician one doesn't like does it, they're crossing a line and there's a chance they'll abuse it to target political dissidents.
