Certainly something soft to chew on. Something large and fun too. he's walking, stable, hmm, trying to decide where we were at 2. Both my kids were like me, about 4 months behind on walking, but able to do it long before then, just lazy. hehe
I'd say get something like osh-kosh's because they help when the kid goes through the terrible 2s, hehehe. A few nice-sized building blocks like Legos mega blocks, so he can be creative and work the mind. Books. Big pictures, few words, the sooner you start the better LOL (ok, it works better when they're three but there is no harm in it)
Basicaly anything large that can't be eaten and requires basic fine motor skills, picking up and putting in type things, snapping, buckles, etc. (thanks Terri)
Mine are grown up, so I'm aiming either high or low if you think anything I wrote was stupid hehe. 2 was an awkward age, but a lot happens during it. have fun.
