True about the very expensive and the very beautiful part, as for the cold, it's really not that bad. The past few winters have been pretty warm with the temperature hovering over 0c most of the time (in fact we barely had any snow for extended periods of time the past few winters ).

With that said, you have to keep in mind that days are short and rather dark, so the winter is definitely not the best time for sight seeing in Norway, especially not if you go to the northern part of the country (Oslo is far in the south).

As for which part of Norway is worth visiting, depends on what you're after. There are lots of beautiful places up here [thumbup]

I have (gasp!) never seen snow, and from what I hear it's beautiful there in the winter time. Maybe somewhere with a nice town, good pubs and food, and just an overall fun atmosphere. I'm sure you'd be the one to talk to about that. [thumbup]
