Tbh, Android in general is badly optimized. It shouldn't take a dual core 1Ghz+ CPU just to make things run smooth.
Don't get me wrong I love Android (I owned the original T-Mobile G1 and now the Nexus One), but it's optimization in general is **** compared to iOS and even WP7 Mango (which is why Nokia can easily get away with 'just' a single core qualcomm SoC)
I agree and only started considering Android when I saw the SGS2 and its overall performance, I compared it against other Androids that were considered high-end and the browser scrolling, contact scrolling, etc were herky-jerky on the other handsets. TBH, the first thing that came to my mind was finally a dual-core Android handset can have smooth UI animation like a single-core iPhone 4.
