My mom got a 4G Thunderbolt. Decent phone. I installed speedtest to check out what speeds 4G has.

It varied every single test and depending if it had 5 bars or 4 bars. Though best it was able to pull off was 25Mb download and 20Mb upload.

I'd say most of the tests were around 15~18Mb download and 8~12Mb upload. But with peak speeds of 25/20, that is pretty freaking impressive.
Too bad though that they capped bandwidth. [thumbdown]

I wonder if these 25/20 speeds are mainly because so few actually have a 4G phone. As more get them, maybe it'll slow down a little unless Verizon has enough infrastructure in place.
