Dave,

About three years ago I too was under some pretty serious stress and something similar afflicted me. I had some heart issues which manifested from the stress and my pectoral muscles started to twitch frequently. This occurred for months, possibly even an entire year, but it eventually went away.

I have no data on this, but I can tell you the conclusions I personally came to. My stress was focused on my chest because I was afraid of having a cardiac episode of some sort. It seems that I induced these twitches because of where my attention was focused. Perhaps you're having a similar issue but the locations are random as you're not particularly worried about something physically in your body.

See someone if you're worried of course, but hopefully this has brought some consolation to you. It was odd when I read this, I suddenly realized I don't have those twitches anymore. I hadn't encountered a situation up until now that prompted me to think about it. Think positively, exercise when you can, try to eat well, and do your best to remove whatever stress you can from your life. Good luck.
