Given the increasing economic and political irrelevancy of the UK in the world, Scotland is better off seceding in the long run. No need for a referendum. They should just get on with it.

I honestly don't think it matters what government is nominally in charge - we're all freewheeling at the moment trying to pluck up the courage to admit that the fuel tank is low and the engine is stuttering.
