I pay $10/month extra for Tethering. Why? I need it for work. Have to be 24/7/365 acessable anywhere. Which means the ability to remote into work from anywhere. There litterally have been times I've stopped the car on the side of the highway, turned tethering on and used the iPad to remote into work and fix something.

I'm not explaining myself very well here....the question posed was "can I connect via my phone with a wi-fi iPad" and I said that in the UK you'd have to pay extra for this facility to work if you have an iPhone.
