Wow,I'd have killed the dog probably.

I tried, more difficult than you think on the spare of the moment, trust me i was the same way, but even with a steel bar i still couldn't knock it out or hurt it, they are solid as rock and appeared almost impervious to what i was doing, i was slick with sweat afterwards from the effort i put it, it's bite must be unreal, it crushed the cats head completely. The one time i would have liked to own a gun.

Sorry to hear that, must have been quite shocking having to see it happen in front of you.
Where was the dog owner while this was going on?
