no, but because of the technicality of being always on standby

I'm sure that even you understands that just because you're living on a military base it doesn't mean they pay you for every hour of the day.
you do, you get paid a base rate,per hour 24hrs a day,then you get paid extra when you go on operations,flying pay,uncomfortable working conditions,etc.

I'm duty crew this weekend,and although I haven't had any call outs I'm still getting paid for it

that's how its worked out in the military, they have to pay you round the clock otherwise,they would have to pay overtime etc [rofl]
