hmm interesting. he couldn't have been a BI because, they are not allowed to do any thing under 500ft (inc winch failures) instructional wise.

I think civvi glider pilots are pretty gash anyway,usually doddery old farts

I remembered how much I hated the gliding scene.

Get to the field at 10, wait for an hour while they do god knows what (I could have done 5 emergency's by now, I don't need thermals!)

Push the gliders to the runway at 11
Push more gliders around
Push another glider around
Have a flight
Push a glider
Have a flight
it's now 4pm and we have to push all the glider's back to the hangers [cursing]

I can't even stand taxiing anymore let alone all this crap. I'm used to getting to the field, being able to prep the aircraft myself, starting up, getting into a hover and then flying away [thumbup]
