i wouldnt go to mexico till it gets a bit better down there i love mexico but there haveing lots of issues right now

He's going to Cancun, should be fine, it's super touristy. Besides, a couple friends of mine just hitch hiked through Mexico to get to Guatemala and had no problems whatsoever.
