Meaning that the pellet has that many ft/lbs of energy leaving the muzzle?

I know I've come across this before when someone has posted about an air rifle in the UK. 12 lbf is the maximum for a UK air rifle but it seems to be mistakenly replaced with the suffix ft-lbs. lbf is an old measurement of force, foot-pound-second. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pound-force
