I know I've come across this before when someone has posted about an air rifle in the UK. 12 lbf is the maximum for a UK air rifle but it seems to be mistakenly replaced with the suffix ft-lbs. lbf is an old measurement of force, foot-pound-second. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pound-force

Same thing I'm thinking... it's shooter slang to say energy as opposed to force...

That's crazy low... less than 1/10th the power of a .22LR bullet!

My .300RUM handloads come out closer to 5000!
