Until repulsorlift technology arrives around 2039 I'm sure there won't be any taking off from roadways, especially in cities. There are powerlines crossing roads when you least expect, not to mention low bridges.
under current air law in the UK it is illegal to land a light aircraft on a public highway unless in an emergency so the "flying car" would be illegal over here and pointless unless the law is changed.

and to be ****ing honest, it would take people with an extremely high aptitude for flying and Airman-ship ( navigation knowledge and air priority and airspace laws correct RT etiquette and understand and be able to carry out tower instructions) to obtain a pilots license in 20 hrs.

they must read NOTAMS and carry a navigation map by law if they travel more than 5 miles from their airfield.

there will be a lot of air incidents in the future, any ****er can fly but not everyone can be a safe pilot with great spatial awareness and look out.
