It also appears to be twitter related somehow, since the error page i was served up came from them, it even said:

The discussion topic 'Repealing unnecessary laws' is getting more traffic & hence is slower. Currently other 2 themes are live. Logins are now back. The volume of traffic is still extremely high however so slow page load times are probable. 2 hours ago The unprecedented level of traffic has forced us to switch off logging in to protect page serving.Please check back for updates 3 hours ago It's probably everyone calling for all politicians to be considered outlaws.
