Pff... come to africa... the fastest your going to get is 4Mb

complaining about your 10Mb service... YOU!!
problem was that I was paying for 10M and on average getting about half that. If I wanted a 5M connection I could save money by dropping tiers, which is what I ended up doing. This is honestly the first time since I have had a broadband connection (10+ years) that I have not gotten atleast the advertised speed, and generally got more. I think that time warner has to be getting nervous knowing that Fios is encroaching on them fairly fast in populated areas, offering twice the download speed and 10x the upload speed for less money per month. hell even a good 4g wireless connection under perfect conditions is theoretically faster and cheaper than what I am getting from them right now. I just dont feel like I can rely on a 4G connection at my house for streaming movies. they either need to update their infrastructure fast or have a major pricing change or they are going to lose a lot of business when something better does come along, and it will come.

I recently attended a continuing ed seminar for work and one fo the sessions was on 4G deployment and that some companies starting to offer fiber internet and crazy speeds to your house for free in exchange for setting up a small hotspot/repeater on your property. basically your capped on speed during high data, but during low times get something in the range of 50M into your house. They are claiming most of the data going through your hub will be upstream which the average user doesnt use much of, so in theory it shouldnt affect you all that much. not sure if it will work out that way or not, but others are looking to the future while it seems time warner is sitting on their current infrastructure like a pig going to slaughter.
