I don't know. I'm not a burglar. But I have been burgled in my sleep before now. They forced in through a patio door on the ground floor and I was on the second floor and didn't hear a thing.

According to the stats, most burglaries are opportunist. If they spot an easy access, like sleeping with a window open, they probably won't care if you are home or not.

I'm pretty sure most burglars would rather burgle an empty house than an occupied one. That's why it's a good idea to make it look as if someone is in when you're away.
