3k a month? That is messed up man. Here it is usually $500/mo. But it can also be based on income, so maybe you make millions? Maybe even billions?

Anyways, that sucks for the kids. I was 9 or 10 when my parents divorced and it sucked balls.
A couple things that bugged me as a kid that you may want to watch out for.

1.) If you get a girlfriend, keep your kids first. When my dad got one, I rarely went over to his house as often cause they were "hanging out."

2.) Don't do a "suprise, we are getting married" bs.

3.) Don't use your kids to talk to your ex-wife for you. My mom did this to me all the time. "Tell your dad, blah blah blah for me." I got to the point where I had to tell her to shut up and act like a grown up and talk to him herself.
Yet, when they are forced to be around, weddings and the like, she tries to act tough and act like he is the one that has the beef.

Those are just 3 major things that I did not like as a child going through a divorce myself.
