Almost all of the deaths this year are from one earthquake (Haiti) that wasn't particularly strong, but happened to be near a large city with many poorly constructed buildings. One earthquake in Haiti doesn't make a trend.


While anything could happen I don't agree with the your statistical analysis. It's like claiming anyone who won a $1+ million lottery so far this year in theory should expect to win two more $1+ million lotteries this year.
Anyone winning a lottery is based off Luck though, Earthquakes happening are not based on Luck, but what is happening with the Earth at a given time, whether that is effected by the Moon's/Sun's gravitational pull or not.

If all of the earthquakes that occurred in 2009, happened within the space of a 6 months this year, then I'd say something is definitely on the Horizon.
