If all of the earthquakes that occurred in 2009, happened within the space of a 6 months this year, then I'd say something is definitely on the Horizon.

The number of major quakes (>=7.0) last year was 17. At this rate there will only be 10 major quakes by mid-year.

Considering there have been far less than 1 million deaths from the last 150 major earthquakes since 2000 I wouldn't expect millions to die even if in the event that the number of earthquakes picks up for a few years.
