I personally was never a very big fan of the Lord of the Rings series but I was looking forward to them being released on BD for a fantastically high end AV feast. It is great to hear that the 5.1 DTS-HD track (with matixed surround center) sounds so good but with the titles coming out so late, the transfer should be close to flawless.

Don't get my wrong, I have plenty of BD titles in my collection that people think I am crazy for having but they also don't seem artificially starved of attention in mastering. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/My-Cou...-Blu-ray/5515/ This seems like it was done intentionally, as the HD broadcast version is arguably better. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1237167
