HUGE and HEAVY but its only 1000mAh short of advertised so i'm happy.

If it's a new battery, give it two or three full discharge/recharge cycles and you may get some of that back.

I also have a 12cell battery for my laptop. Yah, it's big and bulky, but I like it and wouldn't go back to a standard battery pack again. I only get about 6 hours out of mine, but that's not bad since it's not a netbook.
