Argh!!! I'd have stuck to the Mini-14... it's got the same self-cleaning gas system as the Garand and M14s. I loved shooting my dad's as I grew up... I've got the target model myself, but haven't shot it yet as I haven't gotten around to matching up Leupy bases, rings and a scope in stainless yet.

I was really considering it, but the price won me over. I do plan on getting an M1A in the future, with a nice wooden stock... That's when I have more money to spend. If I ever move out of california, I will eventually build myself a custom AR-15.
