Ah, I see. Over here your age dictates which class you are in. Ages aren't mixed.....at least that's how it worked when I was at school.

There are the core classes that are usually limitted to the same grade like Math, Science, "English," etc. Then there are electives that will take students from all grades to fill the ranks, like foreign languages, art classes, physical education, etc.
