It might not be very descriptive, but calling this person retarded is totally incorrect, especially if the handicap is purely physical. Would you call someone who has cerebral palsy retarded?
Well since they deleted my first post, I can't refer to what I said in that, But I guess saying retarded could be considered to be an incorrect term to use, If someone is physically disabled and the disablement is not mentally.

So ok, using the word retarded to describe the boy in the story is incorrect as the story states his impairment (I guess that's PC too) is Physical.

I probably did write the first couple of posts, quite hastily, as I'm in work now and was in a rush to get out on site, so could have worded it a little better, but even though others might take offence at me using the word "retarded", At least I don't resort to to name calling when I feel offended by what someone else has written.

To be honest, the whole thread is the last thing on my mind now, after someone's insulting comments, so I'll leave it at that.
